All about Ludlow Rotary Dog Day 2024

Ludlow Rotary Dog Day is organised by Ludlow Rotary Club and is only possible with the incredible help and tremendous support of over 130 volunteers on the day and our very generous sponsors.

As a result of the money raised over the last 9 years at the annual Ludlow Dog Day, Ludlow Rotary Club has been able to distributed over £162,000 to a range of charities and community organizations

Hillary Delaney Hall, Ludlow Rotary Club President, on confirming the beneficiaries for 2024, said “for the last 9 years Ludlow Rotary Club has raised significant funds for local charities. The jewel in our crown is the Ludlow Rotary Dog Day, which last year raised some £12,000 for good causes. With the money, the Club is able to award grants to local charities and organisations to make a difference in their communities via our own grant scheme Ludlow Rotary Cares.

The whole emphasis about Dog Day is to have fun. Not only for us but particularly for our dogs. There will be multiple activities for all breeds of dog, whether they be small, medium or large, including various classes such as Waggiest Tail, Best Biscuit Catcher, Prettiest Bitch and the Most Handsome Dog together with a Fun Dog Scurry, a Gun Dog Scurry and Have-a-go Agility, Flyball and Hoopers.

There will be some wonderful displays in the main Rotary Ring including demonstrations by All Positive Dog Services including Hoopers, Loose Lead Training, Scent Work and Learning A Trick. Also here will be the thrills of The Paws for Thought Display Team, the enviable obedience of The Bliss Gate Dog Obedience Team and Paws of Parham Nadac Agility Demonstration Team.

We are also extremely lucky to have an excellent venue in Stokesay Court with its’ magnificent grounds and once again we are immensely grateful to Caroline Magnus for welcoming us back to her home and for working so closely with Ludlow Rotary Club in organising this event.

Ludlow Rotary Dog Day is a time for enjoyment and we look forward to welcoming you all as individuals, families and, importantly, your dogs, to enjoy with us all the glorious celebration of the relationship between us and our canine friends.

Our chosen beneficiaries for Ludlow Dog Day 2024 will be Ludlow Rotary Cares and other causes supported by Rotary.”

Ludlow Rotary Cares was established by Ludlow Rotary Club 9 years ago and provides small grants of between £500 and £750 to help charities and organizations within 15 miles of Ludlow to make a real difference in their community. In those 9 years, using some of the money raised at Dog Day, over 95 grants have been awarded enabling over £45,000 to be invested in our community.
